Choral Conduction is a musical practice that is growing in pockets in many cities around the globe (notably Toronto, Graz, Amsterdam, and London). It enables singers and non-singers to come together improvisationally and collaborate with an improvising conductor to generate large ensemble improvised vocal works. In this workshop with choral conduction practitioners from Berlin and The Netherlands participants will learn the basics of choral conduction and spend the day exploring new vocal sounds and group vocal textures. No vocal training is necessary to participate, singers and non-singers from any tradition are welcome. We will improvise and comes together across traditions.
This is a special Workshop featuring Tomomi Adachi and Chris J. Tonelli.
