SUMMARY:Adventures in Sound: Quad Night
DESCRIPTION:For sound artists\, composers and electronic musicians working 
 independently\, the opportunity to work with multi-channel playback and qu
 adrophonic playback are rare.  Even rarer\, the chance to engage\, explor
 e and collaborate in these environments.  The Willows Nest is collaborati
 ng with Berin-based sound artist and programmer Matt Burnett to bring regu
 larly scheduled "Open Jack Nights" to The Willows Nest.  Artists can brin
 g sound files to diffuse through the house system on a first-come\, first 
 served basis.   During this introductory event we'll introduce you to th
 e system\, playback a few quad sound examples and sign up to participate a
 t the next event.\n\nParticipants will enjoy immediate sonic feedback on t
 heir work\, and hang out networking with other electronic musicians and so
 und artists interested in spatialized sound. We are a casual\, home-based\
 , and collaborative space - so no need to feel intimidated about trying th
 ings for the first time.  Matt Burnett has developed an iPad based interf
 ace to control playback in real time that's pretty intuitive and easy to u
 se - so we can all experiment and learn together.  Participants in these 
 open jack nights will also have the opportunity to present their work duri
 ng regularly scheduled concerts at The Willows Nest.\n\nThis introductory 
 event is free and open to the public!  Anyone who might be interested in 
 presenting work is warmly encouraged to reserve a spot.  Spaces are limit
 ed for this so reserve early.
